Painting

The series below is a five part painting series in which I was developing a new painting style. This style uses a large variety of colors and shape forms. These paintings are done in acrylic and develop more fully as time goes on.

I started this series during the late winter of 2021. The inspiration for this style came from my digital drawing work series.

Self Portrait

In the series below I was tasked with drawing a self portrait series. The theme of the assigned task was “How people see me” and “How I see my self”.

Most projects from the class altered their self portrait to reflect how they felt on the inside. I took a more literal approach.

Beach Dog

The second part to the digital series is an illustration of a dog from Costa Rica done in the same form.

Personal Series

This is my three part personal series that I created digitally. Each part tells a new part of the story.

This type of art was inspired by my other digital series where I used implied colors and organic shapes.

Print work

This work was made during my printing class. I made them based off of photos I took in real life and translated them into prints.

For these prints I used a cut sheet of plastic laid over a photo and carved the plastic with a sharp needle. Once that was complete I would cover the plastic in ink, followed by paper and finally run it through a press.

Handwork

Here are a few of my first finished works when working in a new medium.

The first artwork was done in oil painting, a medium I was very new to. The second is a drawing done entirely in pencil.
